Book the job.
When it's triple digits outside and the AC quits, people call until somebody answers. Your virtual receptionist picks up 24/7 in English or Spanish, sorts no-AC and no-heat emergencies from routine calls, books tune-ups, and texts back anyone who hangs up.
First month free Month-to-month · cancel anytime · one-time setup fee applies
Our demo line answers as “Lone Star Plumbing,” a sample plumbing company, but the receptionist works the same for HVAC companies. Yours answers in your company's name with your services and rules. Call and try it.
Example: 4:10 PM, August weekday
- Month-to-month, cancel anytime
- Live in 2–5 business days
- Keep your business number
- English & Español
- Set up for DFW trades
Peak season is when you miss the most calls.
Your busiest weeks are the weeks you're least able to answer. Every unanswered call in a heat wave is a homeowner dialing the next company.
Summer heat
Crews are slammed, the phone won't stop, and no-cooling calls can't wait until tomorrow.
Winter freeze
When temperatures drop, no-heat calls pile up overnight. Your receptionist answers every one.
Tune-up season
Maintenance-plan reminders bring a wave of calls. Book them without tying up your office.
What does a missed call cost you?
We're not going to throw industry numbers at you. Use your own. Plenty of callers who hit voicemail don't leave a message. They just call the next company. Plug in your best guesses:
This works right in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
What it does on every call
Set up for heating and cooling: no-AC, no-heat, tune-ups, replacements, and estimates.
Answers 24/7
In your company's name, even when several calls come in at once during a heat wave.
Sorts out emergencies
Asks about the home, the occupants, and the system, then follows your rules for what's urgent.
Books tune-ups & plans
Schedules maintenance-plan visits and new estimates into your calendar or sends you a request.
Texts back missed calls
If a call drops or gets missed, the caller gets a text so they don't move on to the next company.
English & Spanish
Switches to Spanish when the caller does. También hablamos español.
Tells you what happened
A short summary after every call: who called, what's wrong, and what got booked.
Your part takes about 10 minutes. We do the rest.
No app to download. No dashboard to learn. No one from your crew has to become the “tech person.”
Your part
- Fill out a short questionnaire (about 10 minutes)
- Listen to a test call and tell us what to change
- Turn on call forwarding (we walk you through it), or use a new local number we set up
Our part
- Build your receptionist with your services, area, hours, and rules
- Test it in English and Spanish before it takes a real call
- Review calls every week and fix what it got wrong
- Send you call summaries and a monthly report

Questions HVAC owners ask
Don't see yours? Email ditchvoicemail@gmail.com. A real person reads it.
Can it tell a real no-AC emergency from a routine call?
Yes, using the rules you set. It can ask whether anyone in the home is elderly, very young, or has a health condition, how hot or cold it is inside, and whether the system is running at all. You decide what counts as urgent and who gets alerted.
What about gas smells or carbon monoxide alarms?
It doesn't troubleshoot those. If a caller reports a gas smell or a CO alarm, it tells them to get everyone outside and call 911 or the gas utility from a safe place, then alerts you.
Can it book maintenance-plan tune-ups?
Yes. It can recognize existing plan members if you give us the list or rules, offer the next open tune-up slots, and send the booking to your calendar or office. Spring and fall tune-up pushes are a good fit.
Can it handle a heat wave or freeze when everyone calls at once?
It can answer several calls at the same time, so callers don't get a busy signal or voicemail. It can also tell callers honestly when you're booked out and put them on a list, if that's how you want it handled.
Does it speak Spanish?
Yes. It answers in English and switches to Spanish when the caller does.
Does the demo work if it says “plumbing”?
Yes. The demo is set up as a sample plumbing company so you can hear the voice and how it handles callers. Your receptionist gets your HVAC services, questions, and emergency rules.
How does the free first month work?
Your first month of service is free. You pay the one-time setup fee when you sign up, which covers building, testing, and launching your receptionist. The monthly fee starts in month two. Cancel before then and you won't be charged a monthly fee.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. It's month-to-month and you can cancel anytime.
How long does setup take?
Usually 2–5 business days after you finish the 10-minute questionnaire. We do the building and testing. Here's the whole process.
Do I keep my business number?
Yes. You keep your number and forward calls to your receptionist: all calls, only the ones you don't pick up, or only after hours. Stop forwarding and you're back to how things were. If you'd rather, we can set up a new local number instead.
What if it gets something wrong?
It will sometimes, just like a new office hire. You set the emergency rules, you get a summary of every call, and we review calls every week to fix mistakes. If you're not happy, turn off forwarding and cancel. No contract.
Do I have to learn new software?
No. We set it up and maintain it. You get call summaries and a monthly report, and you email us if you want something changed.
Will my customers know it's an AI?
Yes. Like Maria on our demo line (“this is Maria, the virtual assistant”), your receptionist tells callers up front that they're speaking with a virtual assistant.
A note about AI
DitchVoicemail uses artificial intelligence to answer calls and send messages. “Maria” on our demo line is an AI assistant. She introduces herself as “Maria, the virtual assistant,” and “Lone Star Plumbing” is a sample company. For your business, the receptionist introduces itself the same way by default and, if calls are recorded, gives a recording notice. AI can make mistakes, so you set the emergency rules and review bookings. Callers can always ask to reach a person, and the receptionist will pass the message along or transfer the call based on your rules.
