How setup works.
You do no tech work.

From first call to live receptionist in about a week. Your part is a 10-minute questionnaire and turning on call forwarding. We handle everything else.

First month free Month-to-month · cancel anytime · one-time setup fee applies

The six steps

Most shops go live 2–5 business days after the questionnaire is done.

  1. Call the demo, then book a demo or email us

Call (469) 390-0338 and hear the receptionist for yourself. Then book a 15-minute Zoom demo or just email ditchvoicemail@gmail.com. No sales pitch, no pressure.

  2. Fill out a 10-minute questionnaire

Plain questions about how your shop works. No tech knowledge needed. (See the full list below.)

  3. We build and test your receptionist

In 2–5 business days we set it up with your company name, services, and rules, then run test calls in English and Spanish. You can call it yourself and tell us what to change.

  4. Forward your calls, or use a new local number

Forward the calls you can't get to (or after-hours, or all calls) from your current number. We send step-by-step instructions for your carrier. Prefer not to forward? We'll set up a new local number.

  5. Go live

Real calls start coming in. You get a summary by email after each one (text alerts once they're enabled). We check in during the first week.

  6. We keep tuning it

Every week we review calls, fix anything it got wrong, and add answers to new questions. Once a month you get a short report.

What the 10-minute questionnaire asks

Nothing technical. If you can explain it to a new office hire, you can answer it.

Your services

What you do and don't do (for example: water heaters yes, well pumps no).

Service area

Cities, ZIP codes, or how far you'll drive, and what to tell callers outside it.

Hours

Regular hours, after-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Emergency rules

What counts as an emergency for you, and what should happen: transfer the call, alert you, or book the first slot.

Pricing: quote or not

Whether it can mention your service-call fee or any prices, or should always say the tech will price it on site.

Booking preferences

Book straight into your calendar, offer time windows, or just send you a request to confirm.

Who gets alerts

Which phone or email gets emergencies, call summaries, and the monthly report.

Language & greeting

Your company name as callers should hear it, and how you'd like Spanish callers handled.

Your part takes about 10 minutes. We do the rest.

No app to download. No dashboard to learn. No one from your crew has to become the “tech person.”

Your part

  • Fill out a short questionnaire (about 10 minutes)
  • Listen to a test call and tell us what to change
  • Turn on call forwarding (we walk you through it), or use a new local number we set up

Our part

  • Build your receptionist with your services, area, hours, and rules
  • Test it in English and Spanish before it takes a real call
  • Review calls every week and fix what it got wrong
  • Send you call summaries and a monthly report

Setup questions

Don't see yours? Email ditchvoicemail@gmail.com. A real person reads it.

Do I need to buy any equipment or software?

No. Your receptionist runs on our side. You keep your current phone and number.

What does call forwarding involve?

Most carriers let you forward unanswered, busy, or all calls with a short code you dial from your phone, or a setting in your carrier's app or online account. We send you the exact steps for your carrier and stay on email while you do it. It takes a few minutes and you can turn it off anytime.

Can I get a new number instead?

Yes. If you'd rather not forward your main line, we can set up a new local DFW number for your receptionist. You can put it on your Google Business Profile, truck, or website.

How will I get call summaries?

By email, right after each call. Text alerts to your phone are being added; we'll turn them on for you once they're available.

What if I want to change something later?

Email us. New service area, holiday hours, a new price you want it to quote, a different on-call phone: we make the change for you.

How long does setup take?

Usually 2–5 business days after you finish the questionnaire.

What do I pay to start?

The one-time setup fee (starting at $297) at signup. Your first month of service is free; the monthly fee starts in month two. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.

A note about AI

DitchVoicemail uses artificial intelligence to answer calls and send messages. “Maria” on our demo line is an AI assistant. She introduces herself as “Maria, the virtual assistant,” and “Lone Star Plumbing” is a sample company. For your business, the receptionist introduces itself the same way by default and, if calls are recorded, gives a recording notice. AI can make mistakes, so you set the emergency rules and review bookings. Callers can always ask to reach a person, and the receptionist will pass the message along or transfer the call based on your rules.

Ready to stop missing calls?
